“You and your damn brother,” Wolf shook his head in astonishment.

“What?” I shrugged in confusion.

“She is still alive right?” Black asked with a smirk.

“And you have room to talk?”

“I was solo last night.” He shrugged with his palms out.

“What about the other nights?”

“As Knights, we slay more than dragons.” Black chuckled.

“Pretty much,” the few guys who were in earshot laughed.

“Well, the Knights who prefer pants instead of skirts anyway.” Arapaho commented and slapped James’ hand.

“Speaking of Grady, where the hell has he been hiding?” Black asked. Everyone laughed because we knew exactly who the skirt wearers were.

“Shit if I know, he has been like a ghost.”

“Do we need to call for a welfare check?” Torch asked.

“You know with this weather and all, we should keep the elderly in mind,” Wolf added. The brothers laughed again. “Isn’t that what they say on the news?”

“I would say check the retirement home and see if he is in solitary for indecent exposure, but he likes them young.”

“Don’t forget loose,” I added.

“Right!” The group chorused.

“On the real, he has been creeping around Candie’s place.”

“Word?” They asked.

“Makes sense since he was so worried about them leaving,” Arapaho responded.

“Brothers,” Cage spoke entering the common area.

“Fella’s,” Torrent spoke as well. Everyone greeted both men. Cage then gestured for me to follow them to the back.

In a basement room double the size of the others is where Tech resided. This area was designated for him and all of his equipment. One side would be considered his workspace and the other was his sleeping quarters. With all the work that he can put in at any given moment, sleeping wasn’t always something that happened.

“The mystery woman’s phone has been cloned. Unless she uses a burner phone, any and all communications will be readily made available to us.” Tech supplied. He’d explained that if she were inside the compound it would be a cinch to gain access to the device. Once I put her to sleep, I snagged her phone and slipped it to him. With a few quick taps and swipes, he gained access.

“Oh shit, is that her phone ringing?” Cage asked.

“Right on schedule,” Tech said. “Where is she now?” He asked me.

“She’s asleep,” I answered. “Accept the call.”

“Roger that.”

“This is…” The operator gave the infamous spiel before a male voice was heard.

“Dakota Wilson.” His name doesn’t ring any bells, but my blood instantly begins to boil. Who the fuck was this? When the operator asked if I wanted to accept, Tech pushed a button and a soft yes flowed over the speaker. We all shot a look his way and he just shrugged his shoulders.

“Den-Den, Happy birthday baby!” He shouted into the phone with glee. Baby? “Hello? Hello, Denver?” Then there was silence.

“Who’s there?” He questions warily.

“No need to ask who you are, Dakota Wilson.”

“What have you done with my sister?” Though I didn’t show it, I was relieved to hear that Denver was his sister and not his baby.

“Who says that I have done anything to your sister?”

“Because you are answering her phone,” he hissed.
